Where Galt Credit lends
Where Galt Credit Loans is available.
Lending licences are issued state by state. If you do not live in one of these four, Galt Credit cannot lend to you, whatever an advert elsewhere suggests.
Missouri
$100 to $1,500, roughly 4 to 10 months. Contracted for at least 120 days as state law requires. Regulated by the Missouri Division of Finance.
Wisconsin
$100 to $1,500, roughly 4 to 10 months. Licensed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, which runs a consumer credit hotline on 608-261-9555.
Utah
$100 to $1,500, roughly 4 to 10 months. Regulated by the Utah Department of Financial Institutions in Salt Lake City, 801-538-8830.
Texas
$100 to $1,000, 120 to 180 days. Galt Financial Solutions LLC is licensed by the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner and arranges the loan with an unaffiliated third-party lender rather than funding it. Texas borrowers also have three calendar days to cancel after signing.
Every other state: not available. That includes California, Florida, New York, Illinois, Ohio and the rest. A credit union, a community development lender or a local assistance programme is the better place to start if you are outside the four.
Direct lender in three states, Credit Access Business in one
This distinction gets glossed over on a lot of sites, so it is worth stating plainly. In Missouri, Wisconsin and Utah, Galt Credit is the licensed direct lender: it underwrites the loan, funds it from its own capital and services it.
In Texas, it does not. Galt Financial Solutions LLC operates as a Credit Services Organization and Credit Access Business, licensed by the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner. It arranges a loan between you and an unaffiliated third-party lender, services that loan, and guarantees it to the lender. The lender charges interest at no more than 10% per annum; the CAB charges its own fees on top, and the combined figure is the roughly 598% APR that appears on the published fee schedule.
For a Texas borrower, the practical consequences are three. Questions about the loan go to Galt Financial Solutions on 888-743-6229, not to the lender. The maximum is $1,000 rather than $1,500. And you have three calendar days from signing to cancel.

Each of these offices takes consumer complaints directly and none of them charges to do it. The Online Lenders Alliance, of which the lender is a member, also runs a consumer hotline on 1-866-299-7585.
If you live somewhere else
There is no waiting list and no workaround. Lending licences are issued state by state, and a lender without one in your state cannot legally lend to you there. Any site suggesting otherwise is either collecting your data or pointing you at an unlicensed operator, and an unlicensed loan leaves you without the protections your state wrote for you.
Better places to start outside the four: a local credit union, many of which offer payday alternative loans capped at 28% APR; a Community Development Financial Institution, which exist specifically to lend in underserved areas; your state’s own assistance programmes; and 211, which connects you to utility, rent and food help in your area. A nonprofit credit counsellor will also look at the whole picture for free.
