The short answer

GaltCreditLoans.com does not sell personal information. If you submit the application form, the details you enter are transmitted to a licensed lender or lending network so that your application can be underwritten — that is a disclosure for a service you requested, not a sale. You can ask us to access, correct or delete what we hold at any time.

What “sale” and “sharing” mean here

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws in other states, a “sale” is a disclosure of personal information for money or other valuable consideration, and “sharing” covers disclosure for cross-context behavioural advertising. This site does not do either with the information you enter into the application form.

Submitting the form transmits your details to a licensed lender or lending network so your application can be decided. That is a disclosure to a service provider at your request. Once your information reaches a lender, that lender’s own privacy policy governs what it does with it, and financial institutions have separate obligations under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act — including giving you a privacy notice and, in many cases, the right to opt out of certain sharing. Read it.

Analytics and advertising technology

This site uses standard analytics to understand which pages are read. Where analytics or advertising cookies are used, some state laws treat the resulting data flows as “sharing”. You can opt out by refusing or deleting cookies in your browser, and by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which this site honours as a valid opt-out request where state law requires it.

This site does not use localStorage or sessionStorage, and it does not store the contents of the application form on its own servers.

Your rights

  • Know. Ask what categories of personal information we have collected about you and what we did with them.
  • Access. Ask for a copy.
  • Correct. Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete. Ask us to delete what we hold, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt out. Direct us not to sell or share your personal information.
  • No retaliation. We will not deny you service or degrade your experience for exercising any of these.

Rights vary by state. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and a growing number of other states each grant a version of the list above.

How to make a request

Send your request using the contact details on the about page, stating which right you are exercising and the email address or phone number you used on this site so we can locate your record. We will verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the timeframe your state’s law requires. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission.

To exercise rights against a lender that has already received your application, contact that lender directly — we cannot delete records held by another company. The lender’s general line is 1-800-402-8845.

A note on state availability

Galt Credit lends in Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri and Utah only. California residents therefore cannot obtain a loan through this site, though California privacy rights still apply to any information collected from them here. Texas and Utah residents hold both a loan option and state privacy rights.
