Editorial policy

How this site decides what to publish.

Three rules govern everything here, and the third one costs us money. Publishing them is the only way you can hold us to them.

Figures on this page were checked against Galt Credit’s published state disclosures on . How we source figures

In one paragraph

GaltCreditLoans.com is an independent resource funded by referral fees on applications. To keep that from distorting what you read, we publish costs before benefits, name cheaper alternatives on every relevant page, and never claim anything the lender’s own disclosures do not support.

Rule one: the cost goes first

On a product with an APR near 598%, the price is the most important fact about it. So the APR appears on the homepage, not in a footnote, and the total of payments is printed beside the payment figure everywhere a payment figure appears. We do not lead with a monthly payment to make an expensive loan look affordable, and we do not describe a high-cost loan as “affordable”, “cheap” or “low cost”.

Rule two: cheaper alternatives get named

Credit unions, payment plans with the biller, employer hardship advances, earned wage access and 211 assistance all appear on the pages where they are relevant — by name, with what they cost. Naming them loses this site conversions. A resource that only ever pointed you toward the highest-paying option would not be worth reading, so the trade is worth making.

Rule three: nothing is claimed that the disclosures do not support

Every figure on this site traces to a primary source: the lender’s published state disclosures, a regulator, or a federal agency. Where the lender says funding is “usually next business day”, this site says usually next business day, not “guaranteed same day”. Where the lender is a Credit Access Business rather than a direct lender, this site says so, even though the simpler claim would read better.

Language we do not use

  • “No credit check.” No legitimate lender offers it. Some form of identity, income or credit verification always happens.
  • “Guaranteed approval.” Nobody can guarantee approval before verifying who you are and what you earn.
  • “Instant cash” or “free money.” Funding takes a business day and the money is not free.
  • Urgency pressure. No countdown timers, no fake scarcity, no “only 3 spots left”.

How we handle reviews

Reviews are submitted by readers who say they borrowed from Galt Credit and are checked for duplicate submissions before publication. Critical reviews are published alongside positive ones, and we do not remove a review because it is unflattering. Reviews describe individual experiences; they are not a promise of approval, of a rate, or of funding speed. For price, we tell readers to ignore reviews and read the fee schedule.

Corrections

Rates, fees, amounts and availability change. Pages carry the date they were last reviewed. Where this site and the lender’s current disclosures disagree, the lender’s disclosures are correct, and we want to know so we can fix it — write to the address on the about page. Material corrections are made on the page itself rather than quietly.

Who writes and reviews this

Pages on this site are produced by The GaltCreditLoans.com editorial desk and are checked line by line against Galt Credit’s published state disclosures — the Texas fee schedule, the Missouri, Wisconsin and Utah rates and terms pages, and the lender’s own FAQ — before publication. Every page carries the date it was last reviewed.

We attribute this work to the desk rather than to a named individual, and we would rather say so plainly than invent one. Financial publishers sometimes attach fabricated author biographies to build the appearance of expertise; that misleads exactly the readers who can least afford to be misled, and it is treated as a quality violation by search engines. When a named writer and a named compliance reviewer stand behind these pages, their names and real backgrounds will appear in the byline on every page and in this section.

What you can check today does not depend on a byline: every figure on this site links to the primary document it came from, in the Sources block at the foot of each page. If a number here disagrees with the lender’s current disclosure, the lender’s disclosure is right — and we want to know so we can correct it.

How this site makes money

Applications submitted through the form may earn a referral fee. That is the entire business model. It is disclosed here, on the about page and in the footer, because you should know it before you weigh anything you read. No lender pays for placement, for a rating, or for the removal of a critical line.
